Zain yet to discuss licence fee in South Sudan
Colombian state-owned telco Empresa de Telecomunicaciones de Bogota (ETB) has
announced that despite missing its original target of November for the launch of an MVNO service, the
company remains committed to the idea and will launch before the end of January 2012. ETB’s
commercial VP, Juliana Henao, told reporters that the
company is currently carrying out portability-related trials, but would then be ready to launch
wireless services over Tigo’s network. According to
data from TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, ETB will be entering a
market dominated by subsidiaries of America Movil and Telefonica, which between them accounted for 90% of subscribers at the end of September
