Taiwanese government initiates nationwide Wi-Fi project; Chunghwa to deliver bulk of 2,500 hot spots
A move by Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) to meet the terms of a recent Supreme Court ruling on foreign ownership through the issuing of voting preferred shares has gone off-track, the Philippine Daily Inquirer
reports citing a PLDT statement. The telco says it failed to drum up enough backing for the plan and fell short of securing a quorum of shareholders needed to approve the
measure to increase its capitalisation via the share issue
