MIC records revenue growth of 13.1% for Q3 2011
Despite having its initial application for a concession to provide
internet services rejected by India’s Department of Telecommunications (DoT), it is understood that US-based chipmaker Qualcomm will now be given a licence. According to Reuters, the Indian government has contacted Qualcomm to confirm that it will hand it an
internet service provider (ISP) concession, a move which is expected to pave the way for the US
company to introduce
commercial Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) services, after acquiring spectrum in four circles in the state’s auction last year.
