Government drops telecoms bill at the eleventh hour

According to Telecompaper, Russian national operator Rostelecom has demonstrated video calling functionality using its integrated multi-standard Long Term Evolution (LTE)/UMTS/CDMA network infrastructure in Sochi, a city in Krasnodar Krai, on the Black Sea coast. The telco also exhibited LTE-supported voice-over-internet protocol (VoIP) at the presentation, which was staged for the benefit of dignitaries attending the Sochi International Investment Forum, which took place between 14 - 18 September.
