Government announces plan to decentralise NCA
The Jakarta Post writes that the country’s largest
communications group by subscribers and revenues, PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom) is investing IDR200 billion (USD22.5 million) to increase the
number of base transceiver stations (BTS) on its
network to
support its recently launched Flexi Net Mobile Broadband service. The telco currently owns and operates 735 BTS
equipped with CDMA2000 1x EV-DO technology, including 462 in Jakarta, 123 in West Java, 40 in Makassar and 13 BTS in Denpasar
