Ethio Telecom reveals financial results, subscriber data for most recent financial year
Nepal Telecom (NT) has
responded to rival Ncell’s offer to
make good on a
commitment to pay royalties totalling NPR20 billion (USD269.3 million) by 2017, but only if rivals such as NT pay their licence renewal
fees too, by declining to do so. In response to questions from lawmakers of a government Public Accounts Committee (PAC) sub-committee, NT managing director Vishwanath Goel
said the amount it was being asked to pay every five years was too high. Meanwhile, rural telecoms
operator Nepal Satellite Telecom (NST) has also
said it is not in a position to clear its outstanding fees, amid losses of NPR30 million per month.
