CallPlus, Slingshot switch MVNO allegiance to Telecom
Contrary to earlier reports, India’s Bharti Airtel is unlikely to launch an initial
public offer (IPO) at its
wireless tower
unit Bharti Infratel in the current financial year ending March, according to its deputy
group CEO, Akhil Gupta. As quoted by Reuters, the executive told reporters: ‘There are no immediate plans but on a long
term basis I have always
said these
companies should, at an appropriate
time go and get listed... I would think that this fiscal year definitely it cannot happen.’ Sources told Reuters in July that Bharti Infratel was expected to file
regulatory papers in September or October for an IPO of minimum value of USD500 million.
