BSkyB reports solid first quarter as existing subscribers take additional services

Brazilian state-owned telecoms company Telecomunicacoes Brasileiras (Telebras) has revealed it plans to complete the deployment of a backbone network in the cities of Fortaleza, Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro by the end of the year. The telco said it recently finished the rollout of a fibre-optic backbone network in the capital Brasilia, and work is expected to be completed in Porto Alegre in early 2012. [More]
